One Response to “Tepperfest”

  1. I grew up two doors down from George Tepper and I went to school with Junior through Mather High School. Later in life George managed our Dominick’s and my wife and I were re-acquainted with George. I had heard through the Mather grapevine that George’s wife had recently passed due to a sudden illness and days later found the beautiful pamphlet being distributed at Dominick’s.

When I brought the pamphlet home, my wife informed me that Jaimie’s been to my house many times and that my oldest daughter had been acquaintances through a mutual friend. It is truly a small world.

I haven’t seen George in a few years as he left our Dominick’s several years ago. I knew he had been through a lot with his Polycystic Kidney Disease and last time I talked to him it had been approximately 1 year since his kidney transplant - he seemed to be on the mend.

It is devastating to hear of his family’s misfortune and Deb and I want to help. We have been organizing a Class of 1978 Mather Reunion to take place on July 19th at the Cubby Bear Lounge in Lincolnshire and I hope to have approximately 100 people at the event, we were all classmates of Donald’s. We will notify all attendees of this worthy cause and urge them to bring donations to the event and I am sure that my classmates will give generously.

I’m sure the Tepper family will see this posting, please know that our thoughts are with you. George was always a great guy and he and his family has suffered too many tragedies for one family to endure alone. Don’t give up, there are people you know and knew who care.
